From Brooklyn Roots to Southern Love for Pizza

Moving to Nashville from Brooklyn (via New Jersey) has had many positives. But the one thing missing when we first arrived in 2006 was GREAT pizza.

After struggling to find my idea of great pizza (I found one winner – the Matta brothers – Joey’s House of Pizza and Manny’s House of Pizza both of which are now closed (2024), I decided to take it upon myself to start making pizza at home. It all started with something called a Baking Steel and the journey has been incredibly fun!

I’ve been making pizza just about every Friday #fridayfamilypizza for my family and friends. I want to share my pizza-making exploits with you. YOU can make great pizza at home too!

DISCLOSURE: I am NOT a pizza making expert. Just an amateur trying to have some fun and share my happiness with my friends and family. I have not written any books, been on any television shows or anything that could remotely suggest I know what I am doing.

UPDATE: I’ve now relocated to Hilton Head so I will carry my limited skills here.
